As we are wearing our face masks more than ever, our skin is facing a multitude of problems we might not have encountered before, including inflammation, #maskne, irritation, chafing and even more serious skin dysfunctions such as Perioral Dermatitis.⠀⠀⠀⠀

If (like us) your skin has gone crazy wearing masks here are a few top tips to try to combat it. Always bear in mind......everyone’s skin is different and you might have to play around to find out what works for you. If you’re not sure, just reach out.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1) If you are using re-useable masks, wash them regularly. Think about the amount of sweat, make-up, saliva, dirt and grime that can be accumulated on them.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2) If you are using disposable masks, pick carefully. Don’t just go for the cheapest option. Some have different coatings on them and some irritate the skin more than others.⠀⠀⠀⠀
3) When it comes to makeup, wearing the bare minimum works best. If you really need foundation, try using a Blemish Balm instead. We love the @biolinejatoanz CC Cream enriched with peptides to calm irritated skin and even out the complexion.
4) Make sure your mask fits well. If it’s too tight it can cause pressure but if it’s too loose it can move and cause irritation.⠀
5) Be consistent with your home care. You may have to work a little harder on your routine for a while. Make sure you are regularly cleansing with a product suitable for your skin type. You might even need to add in a different treatment cleanser and/or targeted serum. My favourite cleanser right now is @toskanianz energizing cleanser with active ingredients curcumin, ginger and cinnamon. It feels like you’ve just had a deep cleansing exfoliation but it’s gentle and can be used daily.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6) Drink plenty of water. Look after your skin from the inside out.⠀⠀⠀⠀
