Why Go Foil?

Why Go Foil?

With summer tip toeing its way towards us, you might be considering adding a few highlights to your hair, in order to freshen up your look and step into the new season with a spruced up mane. But what do you choose - a cap or foil? These two methods of highlighting can be a dilemma for certain clients. At our salon, we’re pretty confident that the foil is the way to go, when it comes to highlighting. If you want to know more about the pros of foil and why we use it in our hair colouring escapades, keep on reading and we’ll let you in on the magic of foil highlighting.

Better Placement.

First of all, we love using foil because it allows us to get creative. We put our thinking cap on, take your highlighting cap of and grab the foil. Foil enables us to carefully plan the placement of highlights. Simply put, we’re in control of how low, high, left or right they are going to go.

Variety of Colours.

The second great benefit of foil highlighting is being able to play around with colours, and use several different ones during the same session, without being afraid that they will get mixed up. Which in essence means, we save time.

Control over Thickness.

You can definitely control the thickness of your highlights with foils. As we concluded so far, foils give you the freedom to play around with your highlights, precisely controlling every single aspect of every highlight. If you’re really careful about what you do to your hair, foil will enable you to plan every single detail of the highlighting process, so there are no surprises.

Better Coverage.

Because we get better control over placement, it also gives us the ability to ensure you get equal coverage all around your hair.

Preservation.

Another great benefit of foil highlighting is preservation. We’re able to preserve target areas of the hair, if you want to apply general colour all over and keep your original colour as highlights.

Comfort.

Bottom line is, when we use foil, you don’t feel any discomfort on your hair or scalp, like you would with a cap. There’s no pulling, as each strand of hair is wrapped up in its own foil.

We truly believe that the foil is a hair’s best friend as it is able to cater more efficiently to different aspects of highlighting. Make an appointment today or send us a question if you’re still having doubts.
