Wow!! What an honour to photograph your own brothers wedding!! John and I travelled to Christchurch, New Zealand especially to be part of Geoff & Joy's special day.
What an amazing day it was with 150 people at the Oxford Terrace Baptist Church, with one of the most beautiful pipe organs I have seen, rumoured to be over 100 years old and a gorgeous couple to go with it. Once the ceremony was over we had friends and family photographs on the front steps including Geoff's WOMB mate (his twin sister Shirley). Uncle Bill and Auntie Jeannette came from Brisbane, and Mike came from the Gold Coast. We then headed into the afternoon tea reception, again an amazing reception put together by Annie and her crew. I was told Annie had not been to sleep since Thursday night as she had been up making and decorating 360 Cupcakes!! After this, off we went to Monavale Gardens for photographs, which can be seen by following this link (select underlined text). There we were joined by tourists who insisted they have their picture taken with the Bridal Party!! With an hour to spare we went to Geoff and Joy's hotel to freshen up and then off to the Dance reception in the Shirley Hall. There we were privileged to be joined by the Cerocers - simply amazing dancers and a pleasure to meet and watch. Again we feasted on fine fare put together by the amazing Annie & Liz and I beleive Geoff's friend Mike had his sleeves up and was helping in the kitchen also!!!!! What a joint effort by everybody concerned for this very special couple. We left the reception at 1.15am and headed off back to our accomodation for the night.
The highlights of our trip would have to be sightseeing with Uncle Bill, Auntie Jeannette and Jan (Joy's Bridesmaid) on Sunday afternoon..."Go left and get a ticket"!!! And yes we are still looking for the Gondolas minus the hail and rain.
