Covid Safe

OUR RESPONSE

At About Face, we are committed to a Covid Safe environment.  We have thoroughly undertaken all relevant industry procedures to comply with government regulations. A copy of our Covid Safe plan is included below.

WELL-BEING

Staff, clients and contractors will be required to answer a series of questions before entry to the salon.

  • are you experiencing cold or flu like symptoms?
  • have you had a temperature?
  • have you been in contact with anyone that is confirmed to have COVID-19?
  • have you returned from overseas in the past 14 days?

If the answer is yes to any of the above questions, the guest will be refused entry to the salon and will be directed to return home and seek medical advice. This may include self-isolation for 14 days as per the government guidelines before returning to work.

HYGIENE PRACTICES

  • About Face is providing soap and access to hand sanitiser,
  • It is a requirement for all clients and staff to wash their hands frequently with soap and water, especially before and after eating, and after going to the toilet. Signage displayed throughout the salon as a reminder.
  • Signage throughout the salon reminding everyone to cough into their elbow (not their hands).  If they use a tissue, put it immediately in the bin
  • Single use items will reduce the number of people handling the same pieces of equipment and regular cleaning of all surfaces where multiple people may be using them
  • Increase the frequency of cleaning all amenities, a checklist and register is available on the back of the amenity’s doors
  • Online consultations prior to arrival will reduce the use of hard copy documents and touch points in the salon
  • Cleaning surfaces thoroughly all high contact areas such as doors, handles, point of sale devices, counters and displays, trolleys, stair rails, with appropriate cleaning agents.
  • Removal of books, magazines and iPads from waiting areas to reduce the potential for infection of clients
  • Clearly displayed conditions of entry at salon entrance, website and social media platforms
  • All linens laundered in accordance with anti-viral cleaning procedures. Washing of towels and sheets with hot water and appropriate strength detergent. Cold washing is soaked in Hospital grade disinfectant prior to wash.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • Floor and wall signs to identify 1.5 metres distance between persons for queues and waiting areas.
  • Limiting the use of cash transactions by encouraging customers to use tap and go, direct deposit or other contactless payment options.
  • Seating in waiting areas have been rearranged to comply with physical distancing.
  • Managing customer numbers and high traffic areas to monitor and control the numbers of customers in the salon at any given time (based of 4 square metres per person). And a maximum 10 in our beauty salon at any one time.
  • Hair stations have been spaced to ensure a 1.5 metre distance between chairs.
  • Consultation forms sent to client to be completed prior to appointment in salon
  • Sneeze guards have been installed on nail stations

RECORD KEEPING

  • A register for COVID-19 purposes is kept at the front desk for any client or contractor that enters the salon. This register will be used for contact tracing for COVID-19 only. Will include client name, phone number Date and time of check in/check out.
  • A QR code for guests to scan on arrival - this directs users to a series of covid relevant questions and contact information.
  • Encourage staff and clients to download of the COVID-safe app.
