Cosmetic Injectables – When and How

Cosmetic Injectables – When and How

11th Aug 2017

For so many of us, wrinkles and fine lines aren’t our best friends and they can’t sit with us at our table. So many of us cringe at the very appearance of our smile lines, and want to go back to the years when we had smooth skin, that’s perky and perfect.

Luckily, someone really invented a variety of cosmetic injectables that we rely on to fight the battle against aging, and it’s doing wonders for our faces. However, some people jump in too early, while some don’t get enough information before taking the plunge and embracing the needle.

Is There a Right Time?

Cosmetic injectables are great because they give results at any age. It’s never too late to seek advice from a professional, and the benefits of starting at a certain age are definitely there.

If you start in your late 20s and early 30s, you’re going to prevent many wrinkles and lines from appearing in the first place, but the key is starting with the right treatment.

Botox or Fillers?

The difference between Botox and cosmetic injectable fillers can sometimes seem inexistent, but there’s definitely a difference between the two treatments. Here’s what both cosmetic injectable procedures it all come down to.

Botox

Botox is the original cosmetic treatment, and there’s not a single person in this world who hasn’t heard about Botox. Being certified in the medical and cosmetic field, it’s been used around the world to give you a more youthful appearance. In essence, it’s a natural protein that has been purified and is injected into with the purpose of relaxing the facial muscles that cause the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The results of Botox injections aren’t permanent, as they last up to 3-6 months, after which you’re advised to go for another B-session if you want to continue looking wrinkle-free.

Everyone who wants to get rid of the pesky lines on their forehead or around the eyes can try Botox, and it’s recommendable to avoid it if you have sensitive muscles or any nerve damage.

Fillers

Although it’s a very similar procedure, it’s devised to treat more than just fine lines and wrinkles and it isn’t an alternative to Botox. Dermal fillers are good for treating skin depressions and loss of volume. It’s also common to use fillers for underye, fillers for lips and fillers for cheeks.

As we get older, we start losing Hyaluronic Acid in our body that makes us looks so fresh and perky. Cosmetic injectable fillers are actually HA injected with a tiny needle into your skin, treating all of the above mentioned occurrences. It also has a longer lasting effect, up to 18 months.
